Overview:  InterPort™ Service OAM  implements key fault management and performance monitoring features as defined in IEEE 802.1ag, ITU Y.1731 and MEF PM and FM IA specifications. The module supports the following standards:

  • IEEE 802.1ag
  • ITU Y.1731
  • IEEE 802.1ap
  • MEF 30 and MEF 31
  • MEF PM specifications and MIBs

Overview:  The InterPort™ Service Activation software module is a portable implementation of the service activation and benchmarking methodologies used by service providers of carrier ethernet networks to assess the performance attributes of an ethernet service prior to delivery. The module support CoS granularity throughput tests, latency, CIR, policing and CBS tests, as well as parallel test sessions. The module supports the following standards:

  • RFC 2544
  • ITU-T Y.1564
  • MEF Service Activation specifications

 pdf_dnlLink OAM (LOAM) Software Module

Overview:  The InterPort™ Ethernet First Mile (EFM) Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) software module is a portable implementation of all management and control plane components of IEEE 802.3ah Clause 57. Clause 57 defines the OAM sublayer (also known as “Link OAM”) to operate at the level of an ethernet single link, including mechanisms for monitoring link operation, such as remote fault indication, remote loopback or unidirectional mode. The module supports the following standards:

  • EFM OAM (IEEE 802.3ah, Ethernet in the First Mile, Clause 57)
  • Supports all attributes specified in MIBs for OAM functions on ethernet like interfaces (rfc4878)
  • MEF 20 and MEF 21

Overview:  The InterPort™ Link Aggregation (LAG) software module is a portable implementation of control plane components of IEEE 802.1AX, including the LACP protocol. The module supports the following standards:

  • Ethernet Link Aggregation IEEE 802.3ad as updated by IEEE 802.1AX
  • Supports MEF 20 and MEF 22.1 requirements

Overview:  InterPort Ethernet APS software module is a portable implementation of ethernet  Automatic Protection Switching (APS) protocol and linear protection switching mechanisms for point-to-point EVCs used in ethernet transport networks, as defined in ITU-T G.8031/Y.1342 standard. The module supports the following standards:

  • Ethernet Protection Switching (ITU-T G.8031/Y.1342)
  • PBB-TE ESP Protection (IEEE 802.1Qay)

Overview:  InterPort Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (RPS) software module is a portable implementation of ITU-T G.8032/Y.1344 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching protocol and ring protection switching mechanisms for ethernet transport networks. The module supports the following standards:

  • Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ITU-T G.8032/Y.1344)
  • ITU-T Y.1731

Overview:  The InterPort™ Ethernet Provider Backbone Bridges (PBB) – Provider Backbone Bridge Traffic Engineering (PBB-TE) software module is a portable implementation of all management and control plane components of IEEE 802.1ah and 802.1Qay. The module supports both provider backbone bridge core and edge functionality. The module supports the following standards:

  • PBB (IEEE 802.1ah)
  • PBB-TE (IEEE 802.1Qay)
  • PBB MIBs (IEEE 802.1ap)

Overview:  The InterPort™ Ethernet Local Management Interface (E-LMI) software module is a portable implementation of all management and control plane components of MEF 16, supporting both UNI-C and UNI-N functionality. The module supports the following standards:

  • Ethernet Local Management Interface  (E-LMI, MEF 16)
  • Mobile Backhaul Phase 2 Implementation Agreement (MEF 22.1)
  • Compliant with MEF 24 E-LMI Abstract Test Suite

Overview:  InterPort Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is a portable implementation of IEEE 802.1AB standard which allows device and network topology discovery procedures in carrier ethernet networks. The module supports the following standards:

  • Link Layer Discovery Protocol (IEEE 802.1ab)
  • MAC extensions (IEEE 802.3)
  • Two Port Mac Relay (TPMR) extensions (IEEE 802.1aj)

Overview:  The InterPort Rapid Spanning-Tree Protocol (RSTP) / Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) software module is an optimized implementation of the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) algorithm that eliminates bridged network loops in carrier ethernet devices. The module supports the following standards:

  • STP (IEEE 802.1D),
  • RSTP (IEEE 802.1w and IEEE 802.1d)
  • MSTP (IEEE 802.1s)
  • Attributes as per RFC4188, RFC4318 and IEEE 802.1ap standard MIB

pdf_dnlMAC Status Protocol (MSP) Software Module

Overview:  The InterPort MAC Status Protocol (MSP) software module is a portable implementation of all management and control plane components of IEEE 802.1aj – Clause 23. 802.1aj specifies the function of a Two Port MAC Relay (TPMR) and the protocols and procedures to support its operation.  MSP defines media independent propagation of MAC status between TPMRs and attached stations. The module supports the following standards:

  • Two Port MAC Relay MSP protocol  (IEEE 802.1aj, Clause 23)
